The first simultaneous transshipment of Yamal LNG via shore pipes at the Zeebrugge facility started on Monday night.
The LNG is being transferred from the ice-class carrier Eduard Toll onto LNG tanker Pskov.
Zeebrugge received its first Yamal LNG delivery last month onboard the ice-class LNG tanker Fedor Litke. In 2015, the Fluxys-operated terminal was selected by Yamal LNG as transshipment hub under a long-term deal. The ice-class tankers carrying volumes from Yamal LNG regularly transfer cargoes at European terminals during winter, where conventional vessels pick them up for delivery to Asia or other higher-paying markets. During Arctic summer, Yamal LNG will be delivering the chilled fuel to Asian-Pacific markets via the Northern Sea Route.
Hoppe Ship Agencies has been appointed as port agent for both vessels.
