On 17th February 2016 an unconventional cargo was loaded onto mv Combi Dock I at the Port of Zeebrugge.

 

Couple of days before the vessel had safely arrived in order to load and carry two “split hopper dredgers”, the mv DI68 and mv DI69. As from 14th till 17th February the vessel prepared for taking her special cargo, incl. building a cradle to support both dredgers during their sea voyage. On 17th morning time, Combi Dock I was submerged and both dredgers were carefully and professionally manoeuvred into the cargo hold. By 17th evening time, the ballast had been pumped out and further preparations resumed ( incl. sea fastening ). Finally the vessel was ready to sail out, which she did on 19th February. Destination being La Réunion, where the DI68 and DI68 will be deployed.

 

For this loading operation, we opted to moor at the former CHZ terminal, allowing the vessel sufficient depth & also space for this manoeuvre.

 

Vessel is currently owned by Combi Lift, flies Antigua & Barbuda Flag, has an LOA of 163 meter, and GT of 17341 Ton.
